Golden-crowned Sparrow

Size: 6-7 inches

This bird migrates into the Bay Area in September to spend the winter. Look for it in shrubby areas, backyards, and parklands. The adult bird has a golden crown bordered by black that fades somewhat during the winter.

Sound: "Oh, dear me"
