Red-breasted Nuthatch

Size: 4 1/2-4 3/4 inches

Nuthatches are small, short-tailed birds that climb up, down, and around tree trunks and branches looking for insects to eat. Red-breasted Nuthatches live in open forests of fir and pine.

Sounds: "yank, yank, yank"
