Barn Swallow

Size: 5¾ – 7¾ inches

This bird migrates long distances from as far south as South America to make their nests in the Bay Area. The Barn Swallow has a distinguishing forked tail and catches insects while flying. Its cup-shaped mud nest can be found underneath the eaves of buildings.
