Western Sandpiper

Size: 6 – 7 inches

This bird breeds in the far north in the summer and comes to the edges of the Bay and our coastline in the winter. It is one of the most plentiful shorebirds found along the edges of the San Francisco Bay, usually in flocks.

Sounds: "yank, yank, yank"
