Red-tailed Hawk
Size: 19 – 25 inches
This bird lives where there are open hunting areas with trees for shelter. It mainly eats small mammals. Look for these large, common hawks perched on telephone poles along open areas or soaring on outstretched wings looking down with keen eyes for prey.
