Rock Pigeon

Commonly called "the city pigeon", this bird is very dependent on humans. It lives on ledges of buildings and bridges and feeds primarily on human leftovers and handouts. It comes in variety of colors. It is not a native bird.

Nest: saucer, often on building ledge

In Marin: year round

Usually in flocks. Male and female both make nest, sit on eggs, and care for young.
